First Responders Coordination In-Service

William P. Fuller
Chief of Police
of a large
School District in Texas
This...is a
personal and professional recommendation of Keys To Safer Schools.com.
I have been in Law Enforcement for 31 years, that last 17 of these has been connected with the public school system. I
now serve as the Chief of Police of a large independent school
district in Texas.
In all these years of experience I have attended some of the finest training
seminars in this country. I have never attended any training more
professionally presented and practically based than that presented by Keys.
This group presents only that which they have seen in practice and know
that it works. Keys collective backgrounds offer an amazing
array of experiences from mental health practice to counter-terrorism, from
Safety Surveys to Crisis Response Planning. The experiences that Keys
weaves into their writing and training is done in a manner that makes
ideas become alive. The standards Keys sets
for themselves and their students is of the highest order. It is my
professional opinion that Keys will perform beyond the satisfaction of
anyone who seeks their help.

This
training will highlight the uniqueness of
each of the schools within the designated district, county or other boundary
and seek to identify areas in their crisis planning that can be made uniform
for First Responders. The schools, with the help of the First
Responders and others, will;
*
identify ways that they can be a resource for each other in the
event of a
crisis or terrorist event.
* share how schools can provide first responders
with updated
Crisis Plans - maps of every campus/floor plans of every building.
* discuss jurisdictional issues and roles in a
variety of scenarios.
* have an open discussion on:
-
Responsibility and
Authority of the school and first responders,
-
Medical personnel will discuss on site triage, mass casualty
procedures and air evacuation requirements,
-
the
concept of Command Post operations,
-
Sites of Interest that may pose an
increased risk to the surrounding schools,
-
on how
schools and first responders in implement procedures to handle crisis or
terrorist events,
-
if time is permitting, other items to be covered,
-
Dress Code Issues, Visitors Policies, Student ID's,
-
How Students can conceal weapons,
-
How to setup District wide Crisis Response Codes &
Procedures,
-
When to Evacuate and When not to Evacuate,
-
Bomb Threat Procedures, Traffic Control and more....
